Learning Agreement 02

As of 20/03/2024


I have chosen to create a new Learning Agreement to establish the new direction I would like to take for the current time being in my MA project of Art Styles within Game Art. 

I will be putting the previous Dishonored practical (previous blog post) on hold for the time being as I find it to be integral to currently focus on strengthening my base understanding and fundamentals, particularly after my research and Principal 3D Artist at Riot Games, Kevin Manning, frequently saying that his opinion is that having an already strong art skill is more favourable in his eyes in my industry practitioner interview with him for the Research in Context Report essay.

In this post, I plan to find different sources of the process behind the creation of environment art in Riot Games' League of Legends and evaluate it. Why choose League of Legends? Firstly, in my opinion, I think that the world Riot Games has created is one of the most flavourful and interesting ones that's currently still being worked upon. I think it's revolutionary the extents they go to, to showcase and develop their world to their players. They consistently release music videos, comics, art, writing and much more just to expand upon places within their lore or world. Interviewing Industry Practitioners

He is currently a Principal 3D Artist at Riot Games, with his profile stating: '20 year entertainment industry vet with a passion for storytelling, art and the tech that connects them.'
